Charisse Jimenez joined Texas Health Resources in 2015 as the program manager for the organization’s first system-wide physician leadership development program. In addition, Charisse has been engaged in strategic projects such as leading the interprofessional collaborative education for the organization’s journey to becoming a highly reliable organization.
Her experience in physician leadership development includes 21 years at the American College of Physician Executives where she directed the graduate program in medical management and served as the senior manager of membership and community supporting 11,000 physician executives from 42 countries. This unique work connected Charisse not only to influential physicians worldwide but also to faculty from top tier academic institutions like Carnegie Mellon University and University of Southern California who partnered with the organization to provide management training. Not only did she advise physicians beginning their training in management she also collaborated with hundreds of experienced and credentialed physician executives each year in developing executive level leadership conferences. Her primary goals in physician leadership education are to refresh perspective, improve leadership capability, restore joy in medicine and hope for an optimistic future.
Charisse holds a bachelor’s degree in applied behavioral science from National Louis University and earned the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance® credential from ATD CI (the Association for Talent Development Certification Institute) in 2016.
When not working, Charisse enjoys learning how to be a twenty-first century pioneer woman in her backyard farm, hammock time with her husband Michael, and connecting with her sons Gabriel, Andrew and Isaac.
