Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, LLC (Coke Florida) is a family-owned, franchise Coca-Cola bottler.
Coke Florida’s exclusive territory covers over 18 million consumers across 47 Florida counties,
and includes the major metropolitan markets of Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando and Tampa. Coke
Florida sells, manufactures, and distributes over 600 products of The Coca-Cola Company
and other partner companies. Coke Florida is the third largest privately-held and the sixth
largest independent bottler of Coca-Cola products in the United States. The company is also
one of America’s largest black-owned businesses. Coke Florida was founded in 2015 and is
headquartered in Tampa, Florida.
The tour will take place at Coke Florida’s Orlando facility, in which Coca-Cola products are
manufactured and stored for delivery to local customers, such as grocery stores, convenience
retailers, gas stations, vending machines, and of course, the Orlando area theme parks and
resorts! The Orlando facility is home to nearly 800 full and part time associates, including
manufacturing line operators, Quality Assurance, warehouse order builders, fork lift operators,
equipment services, drivers, merchandisers and sales professionals. Recently, a dedicated
learning center was established to allow for associates who are not issued company devices to
take online training modules, as part of an organizational shift that moved from primarily instructor
or leader-led training to blended and on-demand learning offerings. A highlight of the tour
will be seeing how the Coca-Cola products you love and enjoy are produced by local bottlers
throughout the United States.

In today’s demanding workplace, many instructional designers find themselves
paying more attention to theory, documentation, and content curation than the
actual product they are designing. For organizations interested in shifting away from
delivery of instructional content to developing a true learner experience, the tools,
techniques and philosophies of Design Thinking can be an excellent resource for
training professionals.
In this session, you will learn about the power of design thinking, human-centered
design and the creative process - walking you through methods you can use to tap
into your (and your project team’s) creative power.
Participants will learn to:
• Recognize why design is often overlooked in the instructional design process
• Refocus design on the learner and the behavior change desire instead of the
content
• Utilize methods to encourage the creative thought process within project teams
• Uncover a holistic five step process, from ideation through testing to help create a
learner-centered instructional product
